McGuire Real Estate’s Volunteer Squad is at it again! Taking our efforts to the east bay, several of McGuire’s agents, staff, managers and family members spent their day sorting and packaging thousands of pounds of food at the Alameda County Community Food Bank (ACCFB). Together we packaged 10,353 lbs of produce which equates to 8,628 meals for our Alameda neighbors. We are so thrilled about this cause and are honored to have the opportunity to give back to the community that we call home.
The ACCFB is an incredible organization which serves as a collection hub and distribution network that provides food for 240 non-profit agencies in Alameda County. This food bank distributes enough food to provide 540,000 meals weekly. Their goal is to ensure that every food insecure child, adult and senior in Alameda County knows where their next meal is coming from by 2018.
With almost 100 years of history in the Bay Area, we take enormous pride in our community. The establishment of McGuire’s formal volunteer program, the Volunteer Squad, is dedicated to giving back to each of the communities we serve. By doing so, we strive to help make these communities clean, happy and healthy places for all our neighbors to live and love.
If you are looking to get involved, the ACCFB has several programs that could fit your schedule. From Corporate food drives to weekend food sorting and even office assistance, there is a volunteer opportunity for you. Check out how you can get involved by visiting their website.
