Southside Spirit House is a destination for local character as well as art, design, artisan cocktails prepared with house-made syrups, and — thanks to the large screen TVs — sports events, too! The intimate space is perfectly suited for a late night cocktail, and you can share late-night bites and flatbread pizzas until 1 a.m.  

Pinecrest Diner

Pinecrest Diner is the oldest standing, 24-hour diner in Union Square. Established in 1969, the building was completely renovated in 2010 but maintains its historic diner feel. Louie’s Bar and Grill has been a Financial District favorite that dates back to 1930. Now run by the food and hospitality experts Pour Guys, this sophisticated destination keeps the bar open until 2 a.m. and the kitchen until 1 a.m. That means you can get the famous burger — topped with bacon bourbon BBQ jam, potato sticks, aioli and arugula — past midnight!


Financial District + Hayes Valley | Facebook | Serves food until 12 a.m. and 1 a.m.

Sauce has two locations in the heart of San Francisco: one in FiDi and another down the street in Hayes Valley. Both locations serve dinner until midnight Sunday through Wednesday and until 1 a.m. Thursday through Saturday. Inspired by fine fare and Northern California culture, the menu includes Dungeness Crab Rangoon, Sustainably Farmed Seared Salmon and Baked Chicken Parmesan.  

Lori’s Diner

Lori’s Diner was originally opened in 1986 and quickly grew into a local favorite. Open 24 hours a day, they offer classic counter service, all day breakfast, and throwback decor that includes sparkling red booths, Coca-Cola memorabilia, and an entire vintage car.

Dirty Water

Inspired by the small farms where they source meats and produce to the independent distillers who make their spirits, Dirty Water is one of the city’s best food and drink spots at any hour. And when you’re on the hunt for late night food, it’s a must. The smaller late-night menu includes Truffle Fries, Deviled Eggs, a fried chicken sandwich and more!

Bartlett Hall

At Bartlett, you’ll find a strong San Francisco character and an atmosphere complete with beers brewed in-house, regional favorites, artisan cocktails, California wines and a menu of upscale bar food. Friday and Saturday night, you can get that food as late as 12:30 a.m. The options include late night favorites like the Soft Pretzel with house-brewed beer cheese, beer battered Fish & Chips served with house tartar sauce, and so much more.  

Mel’s Drive-in

This famous California institution has eight locations, including four in San Francisco with one in the heart of SoMa. Located on Mission Street, the SoMa Mel’s is open until midnight Sunday through Thursday and 3 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Further from Downtown, the Lombard Street location is open 24 hours during the weekend!

Tempest Bar & Box Kitchen

Another favorite from the Pour Guys, Tempest was originally established in 1950 and is still one of the city’s great dive bars. Also home to Box Kitchen, you can get outstanding foods from pork belly potato skins to melon salad and the signature Box Burger until 1 a.m. every night!

Cafe Mason

Cafe Mason is a 24-hour dining destination dishing up homemade meals in style. The late night menu includes fish and chips, a whole fried chicken and fried zucchini available all night, as well as delicious, homemade Pennete Roma served until 3 a.m.
