The San Francisco Bay Area is a destination for artisan food, craft cocktails, world-class wines, microbrews and the festivals that celebrate all four. And though you can usually find a food or drink festival any time of year, summer brings some of the best annual events to San Francisco, the East Bay, the Peninsula, Marin County and wine country.
We rounded up the top food and drink events through September so you can fill your summer with delicious eats, beers, cocktails and wine. Enjoy!
June 2 – 3, 2018 | Heather Farm Park | Free
Celebrating its 37th year in 2018, the Walnut Creek Art & Wine Festival features local Bay Area music and entertainment, food vendors and artisans, specialty brews and regional wines, a Kids Zone, and the always popular Craft Beer Garden and Sports Lounge!
Back by popular demand, the jumbo TV screen will be on in the Craft Beer Garden and Sports Lounge. In the event of a Warriors playoff game, the Craft Beer Garden hours will be extended for viewing and cheering!

This iconic North Bay summer event brings wine from more than 65 premium wineries, fine craft beers from 11 breweries, and food from nearly 30 food purveyors and 12 local restaurants to the heart of downtown Mill Valley. For the 37th year, the event is returning to Downtown Plaza and proceeds will benefit the Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce and Kiddo!, the Mill Valley Schools Community Foundation.

Northern California is one of the best beer producing regions in the world and this Sonoma County celebration showcases exactly that. The Good One will feature more than 60 breweries and cideries pouring samples for you to enjoy between 1 – 4:30 p.m. And you can pair your samples with complimentary treats from places like Oliver’s Market, Trader Joe’s and BJ’s Brewhouse.
June 9 – 10, 2018 | Downtown Novato | Free
Free admission and a kid-friendly atmosphere means no one has to be left at home for this Novato festival! The event will include two fully-booked live music stages, dozens of varietals made by local brewery masters, two margarita booths, local food and more.

The Craft Spirits Carnival brings more than 5,000 craft spirits fans from all over California and beyond to enjoy and learn about authentic, handmade distilled spirits. At this event, you’ll get the chance to discover and try spirits from up to 100 craft producers, enjoy specialty foods, music and art, and meet the distillers of new and undiscovered brands.

Food vendors, entertainers, exhibitors and wineries from across Northern California are hosting Uncorked this June. This public event provides an opportunity to taste, learn and experience wine from more than 60 wineries throughout the region. It typically draws around 7,000 attendees, so buy tickets today!

The Northern California Soy and Tofu Festival strives to educate the public about the health benefits and various uses of soy and tofu. You’ll find food trucks, desserts, meals, snacks, drinks and more — all vegan and vegetarian-friendly!

The 6th Annual Halal Food & Eid Festival — otherwise known as Hala Fest — will be taking place at the brand new Town Fair Plaza in downtown Fremont this June. The event will include a wide variety of different cuisines from around the world, including Indian, Pakistani, Middle Eastern, Arab, Mediterranean, African and American. You may come for the food but you’ll definitely stay to shop the bazaar and ride the carnival rides! There will also be an evening entertainment program featuring local artists and musicians.

The nonprofit BreastFest Beer Festival was born in July 2000 as a way to help raise money for and support the state-licensed, nonprofit clinics offering alternative medical treatments for low-income women diagnosed with cancer. The 2018 event will feature 24 breweries from around the region, including Laughing Monk Brewing, Russian River Brewing Company and Cellarmaker Brewing Co.
July 19, 2018 | Polk Street from Jackson to Post | Get tickets
Experience the flavor of Polk Street at the 3rd Annual Polk Street Summer Wine Walk! This tasting event will feature merchants from Jackson to Post Streets, offering wine samples and special treats inside their stores. Guests who want to participate in tastings can purchase on-site tickets for $30 or advance tickets for $25 online. All tickets include a wine glass and a map of the various tasting events so you don’t miss a thing!

Part of Festival Napa Valley, Taste of Napa is the event’s annual celebration featuring the best food, wine and music that the valley has to offer. The 2018 event is taking place in the brand new Vista Collina Resort complete with more than 70 local wineries, restaurants and top artisans who will be showcasing their best creations.

This annual wine festival is the first festival in Oakland that invites internationally recognized and highly acclaimed winemakers from regions near and far to spend a day and night in our beautiful hills. The event is primarily a seated fine wine and food showcase featuring celebrated winemakers from Napa Valley, Sonoma County and a few international wine regions. Now in its fourth year, the festival added a Biscuits, Bottles and Bacon Brunch beginning at 10 a.m. on July 21st.

Lamb Jam 2018 is hosting five events throughout the country this summer. At the San Francisco Jam, 16 of the most talented chefs in the area will go head-to-head competing for best lamb dish and the opportunity to compete at the Lamb Jam Finale for the title of Lamb Jam Master. These chefs will be joined by winemakers, brewers, bartenders and other culinary artisans for a food and drink event you don’t want to miss!

Follow up the Polk Street Summer Wine Walk with a similar event in Noe Valley! For the eighth year, explore the neighborhood via its best wine, food and retail merchants. Buy your ticket in advance for $20 or on-site for $25, and you’ll receive a wine glass and map of the tasting events.
CABFEST | San Francisco

CABFEST is a premiere wine event celebrating Cabernet Sauvignon from around the world. Attracting more than 1,000 Cabernet lovers each day, this is the largest event of its kind and will feature a walk-around tasting with over 100 wineries from Napa, Sonoma, Walla Walla, Tuscany and Bordeaux.

Eat Drink SF celebrates all things food, wine, beer and spirits. Heritage Fire features more than 3,500 pounds of fire-kissed meat roasted en plein air by more than 50 top chefs. Chefs will build their own fires and roast everything, including whole lamb, goat, pig and duck, dry-aged beef and foie gras, sturgeon, clams and heirloom vegetables — all in the beautiful vineyard setting provided by Charles Krug Winery in St. Helena.

For the 48th year, Millbrae is bringing food, art, wine and fun to Broadway Avenue over Labor Day weekend. Downtown Millbrae’s annual big bash is celebrating 2018 with the culture, spirit and flavor of Mardi Gras, so bring the whole family down for live music, adrenaline-pumping rides, fine art, artisan food, a car show, a microbrew tasting tent and more!

For the 23rd year, Ghirardelli Chocolate Company is hosting the premiere chocolate event of the region in Ghirardelli Square. It attracts nearly 40,000 visitors from the Bay Area and around the world and features local chefs’ chocolate inventions, cooking demonstrations, and live music, as well as the infamous Earthquake Ice Cream Sundae Eating Contest! For two days, peruse 30 different booths from local restaurants, bakeries and chocolate companies, and taste desserts and chocolate-inspired treats.

Silicon Valley’s world-class arts festival is returning for the 47th year in 2018. The list of attractions seems to go on forever and includes handcrafted work by 500 of America’s top artists, live music on stage and throughout the streets of downtown, the Soul Train Dance Party Concert, Salsa Sunday, local food, seasonal craft beer, premium wine, refreshing sangria, mimosas, fresh-fruit margaritas, the Comcast Pigskin Party Lounge with a giant screen TV. home and garden exhibits, and tons of fun and games for kids.
September 14 – 16, 2018 | Jack London Square | Free
The premier educational program of Food Craft Institute, the Eat Real Festival in Jack London Square is an annual celebration of good food with a focus on artisan foods, street foods, craft beers, local wines and delicious cocktails.
