As the VP of Regional Sales for McGuire’s Marin, Wine Country, and East Bay offices, Monica offers transactional guidance and market expertise for the company’s sales associates, office managers, and escrow team. Her regional oversight provides invaluable knowledge regarding transactional regulations, as well as proven strategies for successfully bringing transactions to completion. In addition to her transactional role, Monica proudly mentors and supports McGuire’s team of agents, and is an integral part of the company’s recruiting efforts.
Monica was a solo practitioner focused on real property law and estate planning, prior to joining McGuire. She led dispute resolution for a wide range of matters including: tax and creditor issues, landlord tenant disputes, contractor negligence, and construction defects. Monica’s background in dispute resolution allows her to take a hands-on approach to navigating the nuances of real estate transactions—with a keen eye for troubleshooting and mitigating potential issues before materializing.
As an attorney in private practice for over seven years, Monica understands that strengthening one’s interpersonal skills is the key to connecting with clients and establishing trusting, long-term relationships. The commitment she brings to her clients and her personal investment in representing them have been essential in enabling her to advocate on their behalf successfully. Monica’s strong team mentality is a true asset to McGuire’s sales, leadership, and support teams.
Monica is a Canadian native but has proudly called the Bay Area her home since 2000. Having grown up in a family of longtime contractors, her personal and family background includes everything from construction to property investment and management of multi-unit buildings in San Francisco. Monica received her undergraduate degree from the University of Western Ontario, followed by a Master’s Degree from the University of Toronto. She earned her JD and her LLM in Taxation from Golden Gate University, and is a member of both the California State and New York State Bars.
Monica is fluent in Spanish, having lived, traveled and studied abroad in Spain. In her down time she enjoys spending time with her family—which includes two very energetic little boys—sailing in the Bay, taking advantage of the many Marin hiking trails, and venturing up to Tahoe.
