Many buyers and sellers may be asking themselves the same question: What will the fall real estate market bring us? Agents are asking themselves the same thing.  

Four years ago, if you asked any agent the best time to buy or list a property in San Francisco we would say, “Right after Labor Day weekend.” But in recent years, the fall market has been more difficult to gauge. Problems with our financial institutions, the election and the bailout of our banks has made the fall real estate market in San Francisco more of a crap shoot. What’s more, inventory doubles within four weeks after Labor Day, so buyers have more to choose from, and feel they can be more picky.

Hopefully, this fall will be back to “business as usual.”  We have seen many more buyers “in the market” in the past 6 months, with many still out there waiting to see what September will bring. Keep an eye out for my blog 3 months from now to see my thoughts on what happened.
