Sausalito’s proximity to San Francisco has always attracted new home buyers. But few are aware of the culture and history that this unique and elegant city offers.
Strolling down Sausalito’s waterfront on a cool night, you’ll feel you’ve escaped this continent and been swept away to a quaint European city by Mediterranean Sea. This is especially true in the summer on a Friday night with the sounds of Jazz and Blues by the Bay. You feel like you’re in an Italian costal town.
Very few people know about the stairs in Sausalito. Originally these stairs were built for the children since there were no bus services to and from schools, so it was convenient for parent to send their children to school through short cuts. Today, young people use the stairs for exercise as well as exploring different neighborhood.
The Wooden boat building shop in Sausalito is one of the few old crafts that still is being preserved by the community and the City Government. It’s definitely worth seeing. Brightwork is Spaulding Wood Boat Center’s blog.

Sausalito always has been heaven for sailors. The marina is practically a museum of old and new sail boats and motorboats.
Eating establishments are unique to the area. From the fine dining of Murray Circle at Cavallo Point to the casual eatery of Fish Restaurant, there is a wide range of eating options on the water front.
Even if you’ve visited Sausalito, make sure you explore the impressive details of this attractive community. It just might make you want to pack up and move.
