On any given day in the outer Church Street section of Noe Valley, you will find people leisurely enjoying all the outdoor coffee shops with their dogs by their side. Some can also be seen sipping tea inside Lovejoy’s Tea Room.
When you are browsing through the quaint and interesting shops, you’ll be lucky to find Lovejoy’s Attic at 1350 Church. The shop features new as well as vintage gifts, cards designed by local artists and Noe Valley Honey.
One of the newer shops is Omnivore Books on Food located at 3885 Cesar Chavez. They carry a wide variety of cookbooks. You might also find books about food science and food history as well as other vintage and rare books.

After all that browsing and shopping you will probably be hungry. There’s a collection of eateries to satisfy any hunger. A must for a great lunch is Eric’s Chinese Restaurant at 1500 Church.
For a special occasion you might want to want to consider La Ciccia at 291 30th Street. This intimate restaurant has more than 150 wines on their list. They feature Italian food from the region of Sardinia with an emphasis on seafood.
Now for dessert. It’s just a short walk to Mitchell’s Ice Cream located at 688 San Jose Avenue and 30th. Mitchell’s is a San Francisco institution and it’s evident by the line of people out the front door. They have unique flavors and it’s not your ordinary ice creamery. You may have to wait a bit to be served, but you’ll be pleasantly delighted.
