Thinking about buying or selling real estate in the city of San Mateo? Are you waiting to see what’s happening in the market before you make your decision to act? Has the national and statewide real estate news kept you on the fence?
Well, sometimes statistics can push you into action. Below are monthly statistics for single family homes in the city of San Mateo over the past 13 months.
Although more homes were listed for sale between January ‘09 and January ’10, more of these were carry-overs from prior months of sitting and not selling. Let’s keep an eye on “new listings.”
Average selling price is up slightly from a year ago; interest rates are still at a record low… for now!
Comparing January ’09 to January ’10, the number of sales has increased. Are buyer and sellers tired of waiting for the economy to improve?
Number of days on the market is down from same time last year. Sellers should be happy that their home is selling faster. Buyers, don’t drag your feet when you see the home of your dreams, it may not be there tomorrow!
Buyers and sellers, you’re going to kick yourself if you wait. Jump into the market now and GET OFF THAT FENCE!
