Valencia Corridor Heating Up
Blogged on 3/11/2010 by Brooke Brock
I live and work in Noe Valley. I love the local community here. It always makes me feel that I am a part of something special. More importantly, it makes me feel at home.
However, sometimes I am in the mood for a more eccentric experience, so I walk down the hill to the Inner Mission. Today, you don’t even have to go as far as Mission Street. I have noticed more restaurants opening, newly constructed condos at 1495 Valencia and 1062 Guerrero recently came on the market, and generally more people buzzing around this sub-neighborhood.
For instance, the restaurant Beretta, on 23rd and Valencia, is a city favorite and crowded on any night of the week. Even folks from the Marina truck across the city for a Beretta experience. Heart wine bar on 24th and Valencia literally just opened. It is a swanky wine bar and art gallery combo. Next door to Heart, Arizmendi Bakery will open late this year. Pi Bar on 25th and Valencia is a pub and offers inexpensive food and casual atmosphere.
Tuba on Guerrero and 22nd opened in late 2009. It offers delicious Turkish food and large portions. Lastly, one of my favorites and an “oldie but goodie,” is Velvet Cantina. I believe it is the best Mexican food in the city.
The Valencia Corridor has so much to offer and is becoming a very popular sub neighborhood within the Inner Mission.
