In 1986, Barbara began her Real Estate career with Grubb & Ellis in San Francisco with a strong background in marketing and negotiating skills. Barbara was a Top Producer and #1 Agent for this prestigious company. Barbara then joined McGuire Real Estate in 1993 and was consistently a Top Producer. She has been McGuire’s #1 Agent Company-Wide for 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003 and 2002.

Her son Robert Callan, Jr. who started his real estate career in 2004 is Barbara's real estate business partner and one of San Francisco's most seasoned and successful realtors. On June 04, 2009, The Wall Street Journal and Real Trends named Robert R. Callan, Jr. San Francisco's #3 Realtor. In 2007, he was recognized for his success by McGuire Real Estate and named a McGuire Partner. Robert has been a Top Producer for McGuire Real Estate for 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006 and 2005 with sales exceeding well over $370 Million. 

David Ayerdi

Barbara and Robert offer a full time assistant, David Ayerdi, a native San Franciscan, multiple property owner and investor, fluent in Spanish and graduate of the University of California at Berkeley with honors. David holds dual citizenship with the USA and Colombia. David has assisted Barbara and Robert with over One Billion Dollars in real estate transactions since 2002. David began his career at McGuire Real Estate in 2000 by assisting the legendary real estate icon Florian McGuire Moore.

Barbara and Robert also offer an outstanding Marketing and IT team, web designer, full time listing coordinator, comparative market analysis coordinator and escrow coordinator. Barbara and Robert's team is constantly upgrading the technical and support services to all of their clients.

Barbara’s daughter Regina Callan is a licensed realtor in San Francisco and a developer who designs some of the most spectacular homes all over the City. She is the CEO of RBR Development in San Francisco. One of her most accomplished projects to date was the completion of the eco-friendly Marina Green home in 2007. This home was chosen as the Pacific Coast Builders Conference and Home and Remodeling Magazines showcase home. It was featured on many television shows, magazines and newspapers. Another accomplished project to date was the completion of Metropolitan Home Magazine’s Green Point Rated showcase home for 2009 in prime Pacific Heights. This eco-friendly 7,700 plus square foot home was outfitted with the latest cutting edge modern technology. Regina’s most recent project was a 5,000 square foot premiere design showpiece home in St. Francis Wood and selected as Elle Décor’s Showcase Home for 2010..

Community Service
Barbara has served on numerous boards for different charities over the years. She has always been involved and is a consistent contributor to many philanthropic organizations. Barbara’s main charitable focus is raising funds for breast cancer research and particularly in support of The LINK FUND (Learning, Information, Networking and Knowledge), an organization started by her son Geoff and daughter-in law Hilary Newsom Callan. She is also very involved and active in Cancer Prevention Institute of California.

Barbara and her husband Bob who is on the Board of Directors of First Tee of San Francisco, is financially supportive. First Tee is a unique youth development program that uses the sport of golf to teach students life skills, values of integrity, honesty, self control and self reliance. Students learn to apply these values and principals to all aspects of their life. This program offers young people who may not have this opportunity to better their lives through a junior golf program. It offers college and high school scholarships to children who would not normally have the opportunity to attend high school or college. It is also an opportunity for young people to experience camaraderie and life values through golf. Barbara is very involved with EARN (Earned Assets Resource Network), a charity that raises funds to match the savings of many families in San Francisco, so they can break the cycle of poverty and launch a new cycle of prosperity on the path to homeownership, college and entrepreneurship.

Barbara is a Co-Founder of the American Paralysis Association, and was the founding President. Barbara enjoys volunteering her time to numerous charity projects.

Personal Interests
Barbara and her husband are the proud parents of three grown children and four grandchildren. Barbara’s favorite leisure activity is to spend time with her husband, children, daughters-in law and amazing grandchildren. Her favorite destination spots are Napa and Hawaii. Her clients also know that she is always available for them.
