Rob was a wonderful asset to have when we purchased our first home. Initially, we were just trying to see houses and understand the housing market in the area where we wanted to live. We told him this, and he understood completely. We never felt pressured as we had with other real estate agents that we had worked with in the past. The house we finally decided to buy was a short sale. Closing on this sale took around 4 months and had a number of complexities that required additional research. Rob helped us out with all of it. I used Rob as a broker on the buy side. I have met a lot of real estate brokers over the last few years and Rob stands out for the following reasons: 1) Professional Always on time. Followed up with prospective sellers as he said he would. Stood by his word. Plainly, he did what he said he would do. Which unfortunately is not often the case in this area. 2) Friendly Rob has a very different personality than other brokers I met. He is not pushy and aggressive with his clients. He is friendly and his personality is helpful when he speaks with sellers, they often like dealing with him versus a pushy agent and that can save you money. He is however persistent. He makes sure counter requests are delivered and where relevant negotiated. You will always feel like the client with Rob and that is important because when you hire someone you want to make sure their interests are aligned with your goals. 3) Knowledgeable Rob is SF native and therefore knows the city like the back of his hand. We met Rob early on in our search for a home; he was showing a property in the Glen Park area that I'd randomly chosen to view. I wasn't too interested in the neighborhood but was just starting my search so was open to anything. We'd met numerous realtors already, who gave us their cards, but after Rob gave us a tour of the property and chatted with us about what we were looking for, I felt comfortable talking to him -- and hadn't felt this way about the previous agents we'd met. We ended up putting in an offer for a loft in SOMA/Mission Bay over the holidays in 2010, and from that point, Rob patiently guided us through a four-month-long short sale, which closed at the end of April. From the beginning, he explained the process would take a while -- with many steps and various "pieces" to gather from different parties -- and checked in with us regularly during the process. Toward the end, when we rushed to meet deadlines in a very short amount of time -- and coordinated with numerous parties, from loan officers to the seller's agent -- Rob consistently kept us moving and ensured we were on track. In addition to this, he's responsive via email and phone, is flexible and accommodating, explains steps otherwise complicated in a clear manner, and spelled out various options for us at different steps of the process. Overall, and perhaps most notably, he remained positive throughout the process, which we appreciate greatly.

Rob has gone above and beyond what I expected him to do. I needed to find a tenant for my unique unit and after months of no luck on my end, Rob was able to find a great potential candidate. WOW! Robert is absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! My husband and I have dealt with many real estate agents in many places, and Robert is the crème de la crème. He worked with us over a period of THREE YEARS, going WAY WAY beyond the normal job description of a mere agent to help us finally get the best deal possible. When the market was not perfect, he said: 'HOLD it, don't sell it' (whereas most jerk agents would just say 'sell it' and make themselves a quick buck at your loss). He helped us find renters so we would not suffer financially, and he worked closely with the renters to make sure they kept our place in pristine condition. He helped us deal with our personal belongings (which we couldn't do ourselves at the time because we were out of the country). I happened to receive one of Rob Moffatt's real estate flyers in the mail when we were thinking of selling our family home. His flyer said he was a Richmond District specialist, and that's where we are, so I looked him up on Yelp. While there weren't many reviews, the ones that were there were very positive.
